I receive emails from hobbyist/amateur photographers all over the world on a weekly basis. It’s flattering that so many have written me to comment on my photography or to ask for my advice regarding camera purchases.
Please keep in mind that I am only a hobbyist. I have no credentials that would make my opinions or suggestions have more validity than those of anyone else.
Let me just say that it is difficult for me to suggest what camera or lens an individual should buy, especially when they may be asking about a camera or lens I have no experience with. I prefer not to make suggestions regarding equipment with which I have no personal experience.
I also receive lots of emails from people wanting to know the steps I use in my post-processing. It’s always a difficult question to answer as each photograph requires different treatment depending on how well or badly I made the original capture (I hate that term, capture).
I do not Aperture. I use Photoshop CS6 & Lightroom and usually do nothing more than adjust saturation, selective dodging and burning, contrast adjustment, re-size for the web and final sharpening if needed.
