The Cost of Outgrowing Your Resources

At one time this plant seemed to have a firm foothold on life in the rocks in which it began to grow.  Over time the plant grew larger than what the rock crevices could support.
No water, no nutrients, no soil, just rock and air. It eventually lost its delicate balance between death and survival because it outgrew what the rock could provide.
I hope man is not heading to the same end on our own little rock called Earth.
